If, like me, you have a hankering for an unsettling atmospheric read, then I’d strongly suggest reading this book on a gloomy dark evening or two, a blanket wrapped around you, and a hot drink at hand, because it’ll perfectly set the scene. That is, however, until we pick up this book and uncover the hair-raising truth for ourselves. Yet these are no ordinary people and they each have a chilling story to tell – stories which always end with them receiving a mysterious invitation to a dinner party with their host, Tobias Fell, a man riddled with dark secrets.įrom the very first page of this novel we are told that the dinner party in question goes direly wrong and despite there being thirteen witnesses, the events of that fateful night remain a high profile mystery. Throughout this novel we explore the lives of thirteen characters, some of which are said residents and some who are working at Banyan Court. Consequently the residents range from living privileged lives of complete luxury to the deprived who are working all hours to make ends meet. Banyan Court was built to accommodate both rich and poor residents, with the apartments being divided into two distinct sides. Our story is set in Banyan Court – a thirteen storey residential development built in London and owned by the infamous billionaire entrepreneur, Tobias Fell. Part horror, part thriller and part paranormal, this is a deliciously dark twisted tale where you will enter a haunted house quite like no other. It just felt safer.Thirteen Storeys is the debut release by Award-winning The Magnus Archives podcaster, Jonathan Sims. And then when I come back, it’s like… like if I admit there may be any truth to it, whatever’s watching will… know somehow. Because when I record these statements it feels… it feels like I’m being watched.

Now, those, I believe, at least for the most part.īecause I’m scared, Martin!. Of the hundreds I’ve recorded, we’ve had maybe… thirty, forty that are… that go on tape. I still think most of the statements down here aren’t real. I have… I’ve always believed in the supernatural. But, but even before that… Why do you think I started working here? It’s not exactly glamorous. Have you ever taken a look at the stuff we have in Artefact Storage? That’s enough to convince anyone. I mean for god’s sake John, we’re literally hiding from some kind of worm… queen… thing, how, how could you possibly still not believe!? You tear them to pieces like they’re wasting your time, but half of the “rational” explanations you give are actually more far-fetched than just accepting it was a, a ghost or something.

Do what? Push the sceptic thing so hard!? I mean, it made sense at first, but now? After everything we’ve seen, after everything you’ve read! I hear you recording statements and y-you just dismiss them.
